How long does the Windows 10 update take?

It is one of the most frequent questions asked by many Windows 10 users across the globe. If you are using Windows 10, you might have experienced the long wait for updates that can take forever. Sometimes, you even leave it to sleep or take a nap, so that you might lose track of how much time you’ve wasted waiting for the updates.

With the HDD storage, it could take around 10 to 30 minutes. For big file updates, it could even take hours to a day or more. Some users even thought that their system crashed.

With the SSD storage, it should take between 10 to 20 minutes to update Windows 10.

But the time can be relative from one device to another. Not to mention that the update file sizes can also be the culprit of the time spent updating. The installation process can take much longer on an HDD drive. The size of the update can affect the time it takes. Some updates are small. Some users update the files in chunks so that they can install the updates for a shorter time.

Why does it take so long time to finish?
